Overview

While setting your shopping cart system, you have surely met some predefined drop-down lists such as a list of currencies or languages supported on your site. With ViArt Shop you can customize your online shop by editing all of them.

Getting started

Static Tables are located under System menu and looks like the following:

Each static table contains a number of predefined values used in different parts of the system. Many static tables you have already encountered as they have links in the top menu as well e.g. Product Types, Manufacturers, Shipping Times, Shipping Rules. Most of the static tables are very simple and shouldn't cause any difficulties, it is enough to click on the static table name and then on 'Edit' next to the available value or 'Add New' if you would like to add a new value, and then click 'Update' button to save the changes.

Please read below a short description of all availalble static tables:

  • Product Types are used when adding a new product. It's possible to assign to product types the properties of bundle and gift voucher products as well as default options and predefined specifications. For more information see section 18.7.
  • Manufacturers are assigned to products and then could be used for sorting products and in search options. For more information see section 23.
  • Countries are used when providing customer's personal or delivery details on checkout and in admin panel for different settings. For more information see section 38.1.
  • States are used when providing customer's personal or delivery details on checkout. By default there is provided a list of US states but you can add new states to this list or change the existing ones. For more information see section 38.2
  • Credit Cards Types are used on Payment Details page (the second step of checkout) where customer needs to select the type of his credit card.
  • Switch & Solo Issue Numbers is a specific property of Switch and Solo credit cards; in this static table you can specify the allowed issue numbers that user can select on checkout.
  • Credit Card Expiry Year is used on Payment Details page and defines the expiry year selection. Note, if no values are specified in this table then system displays plus 7 years from the current date (e.g. 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).
  • Credit Card Start Year is used on Payment Details page and defines the years customers can select from. If no values are specified in this section then system uses -7 years from the current date (e.g. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010).
  • Shipping Times are used on Edit Product page in 'Stock & Shipping' tab for such options as 'In Stock Availability' and 'Out of Stock Availability'. For more information see section 18.5.5.
  • Shipping Rules are used on product's 'Stock & Shipping' tab as well for the field 'Shipping Restrictions'. For more information see section 18.5.5.
  • Release Types are used in 'Releases' product attribute to identify what kind of release it is. For more information see section 18.6.9.
  • Change Types refers to 'Releases' attribute as well and is used to classify release changes displayed in Changes Log. For more information see section 18.6.9.
  • Currencies static table contains a list of available currencies in your shop, their symbols, rates and default currency settings. For more information see section 38.3.
  • Companies are used when providing customer's personal details and allows keeping general information such as company name, logo, address, etc. Note that it will be displayed only in this section.
  • Languages section defines languages that can be used on the site and their properties. For more information see section 38.4.
  • Search Engines table contains the parameters of the most popular search engines so that it would be possible to identify what search engines visit your site and display this data on Tracking Visits Reports page. For more information see section 36.2.
  • Cell Phones Allowed Numbers List can be used to specify cell phone numbers allowed to use in your shop. By default none is available and therefore no restrictions are applied. The cell phone numbers put in this table can be full or partial but please note system checks the cell phone number starting from the first figure so you may need to specify the country code before the number you have in mind.
  • Emotion Icons are the smiles displayed on the forum. You can update this list and upload your own smiles.
  • Google Base Item Types are used for specifying Google Base Product Type in products and categories. You can edit available types or add some new ones to this list.
  • Google Base Attributes are available for product's specification values. For more information see section 39.3
  • Price Codes are some default price values that you can create and then select on Edit Product page in the 'Pricing' block. For more information see section 18.5.1.
