Overview

ViArt Shop offers such important feature for e-commerce shops as coupons. You can create a coupon code that customers may use  on checkout to receive a discount. Coupons feature has a lot of settings such as discount amount or percentage, time period when the coupon is active,  number of times it can be used, selecting products and users for which it can be used, the minimum order amount and product quantity necessary before a customer can use it, past orders restrictions and others. You can also generate gift vouchers, which work in a similar way to coupon codes, but are purchased by one customer to give to another. Also you may set up automatic e-mails on purchase of gift vouchers with customer's coupon code.

Getting started

The settings for coupons and gift vouchers are located in Products > Coupons.

Sorting coupons

You can sort coupons alphabetically in ascending and descending way by clicking on the name of the column or the arrows nearby. To show coupons only with certain status like 'Active' or 'Expired' you need to use a special sorting form at the top of the page.

Coupon Types

Note, coupons are divided into Order Coupons, Product Coupons and Gift Vouchers so that you could create a discount on a total order cost; a discount on a specific product/products; a gift voucher product to give to your friend.

Coupons block

By default coupons block is integrated into Shopping Cart block on basket page. However if you need to add it on other pages you can select 'Coupon Info' block in CMS.

Note: it is not advisable to put 'Coupon Info' block on second or third steps of checkout (Checkout :: Payment Details, Checkout :: Confirmation) because all order calculations are done on the first step (Checkout :: Personal Information) and therefore coupons won't have effect if put on any other checkout pages.
