On a side note!!!! VIART - you've stated this was supposed to be released last week on friday (end of the week). What is the new expectation? Give us SOMETHING to go by.

I think the new version will be released in January 2009.

Hello Daniel,
We will do our best to release it this Friday, there are a lot of new functionalities and we need time to carefully check everything.
With regards,

Dan, Thanks for posting Natalia's reply. I'm looking forward to seeing what's new. As ViArt matures, it will be good to see less frequent and better-tested updates. This is by far the most full-featured cart on the market for under $1000. I wish all of us including ViArt a very successful 2009 ahead!

Certainly, thanks for the update Dan.
I agree, i would need a thoroughly checked release, rather than a hurried release.
But taking 5 months is alot of time. for such time period, i am really expecting MAJOR NEW FEATURES.

I'm looking for the date we actually get an order editor and more advanced forum features...

On the 25th June I, and several others, paid for the new "Introduce a Friend" feature.
I was expecting to have this for a Christmas promotion but it is now too late for this.
Those who know me are aware that I rarely complain but this is now becoming so very sad; I have never objected to funding some development ... would just like to be able to use it

Glad we are all on the same page now regarding the delay with new releases especially when it includes Paid Customization.

Hi Ibn Saeed
I've been happy to pay but feel that customization should be independent of a general release and allow those who pay to have at least a few weeks priority use? Certainly not to wait months!!

Hello
I really do want Viart to succeed. It has already the largest feature set on the market. Site loading speed is very good.
the only thing which is acting as a hurdle is its absense of a RoadMap and release schedule issues.

I don't think we have to worry about customizations right now. Please see, below, the response from viart:
Dear Daniel,
Thank you for your suggestion, but right now we postponed developing or considering any new customizations, as our schedule is full right now.
Please contact us in a month or so and we will see what we can do with it.
Sorry for these temporary inconveniences.
With regards,
Vera

I have been using 3.5.13 live took load of orders and give or take the odd bug it has worked fine under the pressure of Christmas trade. I downloaded the beta by mistake so have been "stuck" with it ever since. Despite that it has worked well.
OK 3.6
Great! A manual for the refer a friend feature using coupons. All seems straight forward although I have not tested it yet.
I think I am right here.
2 options: A discount for users who's friends purchased items or a discount for the invited friends when they use the coupon.
I think but I am not sure that you could set up 2 coupons.
1 for each of the above
That way a friend using the specially created url (which is a combination of site url and username (similar to affiliate code but prefixed with "friend" instead of "af" to avoid a clash) would get a discount.
In a addition if using the 2 coupons as described above the user who invited friends would also get a discount after they order.
This is great tool . I think ChristopherO paid for this and was a bit worried it didn't function very well.
The framework looks great. Let hope it passes rigorous testing later this week.
What better way to increase orders. The friend and the user could both benifit from a discount. Nothing motivates people more than money.
I look forward to testing this.
In addition I have a head start on everyone here as have been using the beta version for the last 2 months.
Viart (Google analytics code) now includes ecommerce. It logs everything right down each item ordered. I have reduced my Google adwords bill by half (£400 down to £200 with no loss of trade) dropping keywords which have never created any income.
Superb function yet again.
Great for the bottom line ! I think thats what viart ultimately are all about!
I look forward to delving more into 3.6 but will not risk an upload so close to Christmas.
All the best,
Dave

Dave, you should look into Google Web Optimizer.
Its a way to test landings pages through Split tests and Multivariate Tests.
It allows the merchants to test out every aspect of ones design to check which version of the landing page (product page etc) works best and give the best conversion.
Magento have just integrated GOogle Web Optimizer into their cart and that is the best step they have taken in regards to providing Marketing option for merchants.
I cant find our custom coding - Easy Stock Update - in the feature list... :(

we've all had a chance to view the Beta version, and I know they've actually made advancements AFTER they released the Beta version. I'm a little concerned on why they haven't updated the Beta version so that we the ACTUAL USERS could be testing the cart.
usually what I do is place a few SELECT customers on the beta version of my new sites and see if they run into any issues.
I'm afraid of what this time will actually bring seeing as not a lot of testing went into the cart on our end....
