Checkout!, Acquista!, Verificar!, Auschecken!, Fazer Pagamento!, Til Kassen!, Passer la Commande!

“Checkout” is no longer the only word we will be using at 2Checkout.com. Soon, “Acquista,” “Verificar,” and “Til Kassen,” will be three of fourteen new ways to checkout customers, as we put the final touches on our newest translated updates of the 2Checkout Single Page Purchase (SPP).

As part of 2Checkout’s Phase One translation plan, fourteen additional languages are being added to the checkout process and are now available for viewing on our beta server, as part of a larger planned overhaul to provide a more seamless and consistent customer-friendly experience. In addition to English, languages added in Phase One are Traditional Chinese, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Slovenian, European Spanish, Latin Spanish, and Swedish.

We encourage you to review these new pages through the 2Checkout beta server (see links below) and provide us feedback on ease-of-use, flow, and translation accuracy. Once we are able to apply appropriate changes based upon your suggestions, we will go Live with the pages and make them available for integration. It is important to note that these pages are for viewing only and are in their initial beta phase, therefore, please do not point real sales to the beta server.

We look forward to your feedback! Additional versions are currently in the works including plans to launch multiple translations of the traditional checkout method pages by mid-summer 2008.

We are already aware that a few small bits of the page were missed in this initial set of translations, and have been added to the next set of translations we are commissioning:

* If a recurring product is selected, the recurrence pattern contains the word Week, Month, or Year
* Underneath the fields for name, the labels First, Middle, and Last
* The pop-up explaining Card Security Codes (CVV)
* When you hover on a language name in the header, the sentences “View page in language”
* In the State/Provence drop down, the phrase “Outside US & Canada”

We especially want feedback on anything that been translated incorrectly, anything else which is missing, and any opinions on whether the rest of the entries in the State/Provence dropdown need to be translated.

You can use the following links to see each translation

i hope Viart implements a one page Checkout procedure in the cart which can be passed to 2Checkout's checkout page

Hi Ibn Saeed, I have to say that this fast check out is exciting and a one page check out like this would be excellent! Could Viart do this for us?

My only issue with 2checkout is their cost: 5.5% of Sale Amount is well above the 2.3% I pay PayPal and 1.5% for Google I don't know

When I started my online business back in 2003, 2CHeckout was the only one which would accept International Merchants, Paypal did not support my country. So i had not choice but to go with 2Checkout.

Now Paypal does support my country but i have not tried it yet as 2Checkout has implemented Paypal payments through their system.

I really think Viart should work on the Checkout Procedure and turn it into 1 Page Checkout.

Chris, what do you think?

I have to agree. Even if I do not use 2Checkout it would also be excellent for PayPal Pro. I suggest you put this up as a feature request.

Chris, how do you suppose it should work ?

What should I request Viart ?

I second this feature request!

The current checkout process is long, tedious and loosing sales.

Ibn Saeed

So what do you think of the 2Checkout's checkout 1 page.

Should viart implement the same ?

Who would like to join in for this feature request ?

SajMalik
SajMalik
alkatraz, I am not so sure. I think the 3 step checkout is not a serious issue. But that does not mean it is right for such a sophisticated set up.

I would very much like to see Viart move to a shorter process - preferably 1 page as I do accept this should improve sales retention.

I suggest, Ibn, asking Viart for a cost to do this.

Whilst I have very mixed views about collective funding it may be that very many users would be prepared to share. I also feel that as this would be such a plus for Viart that they may be prepared to code at a reduced rate.

I bet that if you put this up for funding, the way you did with your other feature, and said, for example, that the first 20** to commit get the checkout improvement immediately, you would get a flood of support. And no mixed amounts - all pay the same for this one feature.

There are no contentious issues - I would illustrate the checkout, as you have above and say that that's it, no debate.

What do you think?

Chris

** E.G. if 20 people were to contribute $40 each (very small amount for this feature) you would raise £800. I would have thought that Viart could do this for less than $800 and get a real selling plus into the bargain?

Ibn Saeed
Ibn Saeed
i dont we will be able to get 20 people to join.

I think hardly 10 will join.

I dont like the idea of setting a fixed amount for contributing. let the people choose which is best for them.

I really am beginning to think that Viart does not implement any new features on its own.

all the new features are funded.

Ibn Saeed, I take your point about Viart and funding - I do feel a bit uncomfortable about this but my experience with other eCommerce sites is that they develop so very slowly going their own way. This way, at least, we get a very strong and dynamic set up.

I am now firmly against variable funding for such a fundamental item - my view is firm that a price has to be agreed up front for sharing -- I will not get involved again with any customisation where anyone can wait until the project stalls and then offer a small amount to get the same benefit as others.

I know I did that once but only where I did not really need the feature and just wanted to help it along; but, of course, we never know anyone's true intentions in this forum.

So, if a feature is worth, say, $40, then that is what I would expect us ALL to contribute.

As for the numbers - well, if it were only 10 that is still not much cost. If Viart would agree to code at half price as their commitment then it would still be a very good option.

I still believe that we could get a large number to share where the amount is small enough - and if we don't we just cancel I don't know

Chris

Perhaps you and I should wait to see whether others are interested?

Ibn Saeed
Ibn Saeed
Alright Chris. Let us agree so that we stand on the same platform.

I say that the funding should be collected in the following manner:

1). Suggest a new Feature
2). See if people would like to fund this new feature
3). Get a price quote from Viart
4). Open up Funding for the new feature
5). Everyone should commit in advance to the amount they are willing to share or share equally (by default)

SajMalik
SajMalik
Agreed Broad grin

[Just one suggestion - that at the outset the feature is clearly defined and we avoid going off target unless someone has a truly excellent suggestion. These things wander and get hi-jacked - all by well-meaning contributors, I am sure. Otherwise it just drifts?]

Ibn Saeed
Ibn Saeed
Agreed to your suggestion.

The original planned feature set should not be effected by new requests.

I have opened up a request ticket regarding the price quote for this feature.

Lets see what Viart says about it.

Great advice. These are the sort of things that will make this process a lot easier.

Thank you.

We are now asking who would pay for this?

I guess we would assume 10 @ $%60 each; that's a very small sum for a rapid checkout - just one sale saved would probably pay for it!

Can we get pledges?
