I can see from looking at block_user_home.html that the code for the wish list is there but it doesnt show when the customer views their profile page so where is it and how can a customer view their wish list?

you must go into the user type settings and click on the wishlist to allow them to access it from their user_account screen

Also, www.mydomain.com/wishlist.php is the link to give to friends to search for your email address and wishlist

Okay,. I decided to try it out. I added a product to my wishlist on my site. Then went to mysite.com/wishlist.php and it didn't pull it up when i did the search?

Administration > Products and Categories > Wish List Types > Edit Type
 
Is the allowed search box ticked?
