1blu v server - I'd not recommend them - has downtimes...

virtual server, as of shared, though I can't complain about performance... I complain about downtimes... upside is that I have full control over the server and can even have various linux versions installed on it at 1 button click...

Using Bluehost dedicated server, allows SSL certification.
Been very good downtime occurred 1-2 times short period, in the past year.

In the UK I use a firm called blackfoot. Never had downtime in 4 years, fast and support is excellent. Dedicated Ip and ssl. ?100
In the USA try Liquidnet, I have only used them for a couple of months, but have been impressed so far, also they are ultra cheap. They are contactable by phone and live help. I have dedicated ip and ssl. Costs $1.50pm for IP and $45 per annum
