Hi,
Is there a facility in the admin. panel to take the site off line while I work on it and make a million mistakes.
Cheers

Apparently not, from previous posts on this — my simple solution was to create a home.html file in the root to resent whatever info I need to my visitors until I am ready to go live again.
Perhaps someone else has a better idea which I would be pleased to hear about

This is a badly needed feature.

I agree. Where's Viart today? I think they took the day off. My support tickets are just waiting and their "live" support shows offline... hmmm

Yes, I think it might have been a day off or public holiday in the Ukraine.

They did release 3.4.5 (downloadble from main site but not from users area)...
Otherwise, I hope they enjoyed a long weekend :)

Thanks ChristopherO ....I'll have to work that out too..so far I've got a product and a couple of images..I'm anticipating either an exponential improvement or total collapse.

DickS: I'm not sure about the 3.4.5. I'm not sure of what the 3.4.5 release fixes, and I'm afraid to lose functionality... Any ideas of what they have fixed from 3.4.2?
Adwalk: Good luck on your site. I'm sure you'll love the functionality with Viart. It's a very intensive program, just needs to be re-vamped a little, but it's coming a long way for sure.

Adwalk good luck.
There are a number of users like me who visit the forum regularly, all with different skills and experiences, and are keen to help where we can.

[Dan "Damn holidays haha" - perhaps it was an intensive group work day so ensure that 3.4.5 is all OK before announcing ]

Updated to 3.4.5 and went smooth. 24 changes to the SQL database so some more things have changed then just fixes in the php files.

Viart did forget to add two new strings to the admin language file in 3.4.5. This seems to happen often with new releases.
These strings need to be added manually to admin_messages.php:
There are also two strings that where added in 3.4.2 that are still missing:
SITE_NAME_MSG & SITE_URL_MSG

Something I've done, is I've created a custom page. Call it "Under Construction" or something of the sort. Set the custom page "index" to pull from your page you just created.
