ViArt Shop v.2.7.1 now available!

Here’s the short list of changes in the release of our php e-commerce solution: Test data population, Attachments for HelpDesk Support, Multi packing slips and invoices, 'Ship to State' filter, Product settings' changes, Default product image, Forum user avatar and more. As usual, this new version of ViArt Shop features new functionalities which aim to advance your online store. Main changes to this release are within the ‘Product Settings’ section, although other new features have been added.

Here is the full list of changes:

• Test data population
  During installation you can choose to populate your ViArt database with test data (e.g. products and categories) or you may not require such functionality and only want to enter your own general data. Should you choose the second option,you can do so by the tick of a box therefore you won't need to delete test ViArt products and categories after installation.
• Attachments for HelpDesk Support
  Now you can send attachments right from your HelpDesk Support section (see the clip sign in the top right corner). Note that you have to create an attachment folder in the 'admin' folder and indicate its name in the 'Attachments Directory' field in support department settings in advance (Administration > HelpDesk Support > Departments > Edit Department).



• Multi packing slips and invoices
  ViArt Shop v.2.7.1 allows you to create multiple PDF packing slips and invoices at a time. All you need to do is tick off the orders you want to generate invoices or packing slips for, and press the corresponding link (PDF Invoices or PDF Packing Slips).
• 'Ship to State' filter
  Another change made on the Sales Orders page is that of a new search filter, namely 'Ship to State'. This can be extremely useful for those of you who deal with US customers. Furthermore, you can sort orders in the 'Order Maintenance' table by this criterion.
• Product settings' changes include the following:
  Orders Currency allows orders to show in the currency they were placed;
  Tax settings This allows you to display prices and taxes in different ways, for example "Price (Price Inc VAT)" or "Price (Price Exc VAT)" or simply "Price"
  Appearance This allows you to show/hide certain buttons and fields, namely 'Product Code', 'Add to Cart', 'View Cart', 'Check out' and 'Weight'.



• Default product image
  Starting from ViArt Shop v.2.7.1 all your products will have an image even if you forgot to add a one. However, it will be just a 'no image' image, but it's better than nothing anyway.
• Forum user avatar
  Another improvement concerning images, is that of forum user avatars. From now on, both your administrators and customers can upload their avatars to make the forum more fun and personal to use. Note, administrator will need to allow personal images for certain customer types (Administration > Customers > Profile settings / Types > Profile Settings > Image Settings) as well as limit the image size. Administrator's images are set at Administration > Administrators > Edit > Personal Image. Users' images are set at User Home > Change your details > Personal Image.

Some other small changes are:


• Posnet payment system added.
• Bug with prepopulating of cardholder's Name, First Name and Last Name on Payment Details page fixed.
• Bug with with state codes that have more than two symbols fixed.
