For this you need to go to CMS and set for "Products (Categories list)" block Categories type view as:
"Tree-type categories structure" and don't forget to update.

i want the product categorys to be on home page like my other site www.d2sale.net then when i click each category i want the subcategorys to "pop down" like they do on my other site d2sale.net please advise what im doing wrong
