OK, my client is keen on the ViArt implementation I have proposed (even though I'm worried that despite its power ViArt appears to require a, shall we say, steep learning curve).
But now they have all sorts of questions about hosting. For simplicity I wanted to go for a hosted solution (I tried a long time ago to get ViArt installed and we couldn't get Zend to work properly - more a hosting issue than a ViArt problem). Can anybody answer some of the following questions (or as users give feedback on hosting performance) that they asked me please?
Who do you use for hosting ?
(websanity - Is it on a server in the developer's building or on a servre in an independent datacentre)
What resilience do they have i.e. do they have dual hosting sites?
(websanity - I don't think so for a couple of hundred pounds a year!!!)
What uptime do they offer?
(websanity - any idea roughly what up time ViArt have had - any stats? Over course of a year???)
How quickly do they guarantee to have your site back up in event of failure?
(websanity.co.uk - is there any such guarantee (unlikely), but any stats would help).
Think some of the questions are a little excessive for what isn't a systems critical site, but I guess they just want to assure themselves that the site isn't going to disappear for days on end - so if anybody has anything good or bad to say about ViArt hosting then please let me know.
