Hi,

I was wondering if anybody was using Viart as a point of sale tool? We have both a brick and mortar store and a few web sites, so combining our inventory control with one tool would help us a lot.

What are the downsides to this? Can't we just use the "call center" feature to process orders in our brick store?

thanks.

Hi Bill,

The call center option can beused for this and you could even consider to build a front end that enters transactions directly or have Viart build you something.

Viart is pretty flexible (the software and the company Broad grin)

So I've followed the above advice, I've got a specific user account setup as POS, who's only access is to the "Orders" section of Viart. From there, I can choose to enter a sale via the "Call Center Orders" page. However, I have the following issues:

1. What payment method would I choose for the Call Center? I will always accept cash, and I can swipe credit cards, then enter them as cash sales. So what's the best payment method for Call Center?

2. Once an order is accepted in the Call Center, is there an easy way I can give the client his receipt? I'll be handing him his goods and the receipt at the same time.

Any ideas towards streamlining the above would be great!

I think if you use the personal payment system (payment id 1) this just lets the order be plasced without any verification. Obviously your card "swiper" will do this instead so if payment fails you would have to delete the order.

I think it is payment id number 1 although I have deleted some and added some using the same syatem for taking cheques or online bank BACS bank payments etc.

The file is called moneyorder.php I think (which is a blank text file).

Not 100% sure bu hope this gets you on your way......you could maybe confirm with Viart maybe ?
