If your wanting to use apache style friendly url addresses (such as
http://localhost/viart/a_friendly_url) , which viart has supported for a long time and are using a modern windows system this may be of use...
I test and develop most of my viart shops on a windows 7 system and like it to work with friendly urls just like the destination linux/unix servers that normally run Apache will have.
The web.config local folder settings file (like Apaches .htaccess) has been around from version 7 of MS IIS I believe.
To use this file you will need to rename it, removing the ".txt"from the end of the file.
Just copy it into the root folder of your Viart shop, then edit it and follow the instructions inside it.
If you already have a web.config file in the folder be careful as you may need to merge them.
I hope this helps someone else?!
