Ok, I am pulling my hair out here! I can’t for the life of me see products related to my categories in the online store. This should be something easy I figure, but I’m finding for me the backend isn’t that easy to figure out with this navigational hierarchy…..
============================================
In the backend, I have specified the CMS Site Layout as follows:
============================================
Home Page Layout
Left Block =
Login Form
Products (Categories List)
Small Cart
FAQ (Categories List)
Middle Block =
Block (Welcome)
Products Listing Page
Left Block =
Products (Categories List)
Small Cart
Products (Search Form)
============================================
Within Products & Categories the following has been created
============================================
TOP>Available Categories
Bride & Groom (no sub categories created)
Unique Individuals (no sub categories created)
Baby (no sub categories created)
Products in TOP Category = NONE
Products in Top > Bride & Groom Category
John & Sally
Simon & Lolla
Kevin & Bree
Products in Top > Unique Individuals Category
John
Barry
Glenn
Products in Top > Baby Category
Annie
Sally
Karen
So, in theory with the above specified in the back end, I would expect to see the following:
Home > Products > Bride & Groom > John & Sally… but I see nothing… I only see the category description
This product is great and I do acknowledge there is a learning curve, so perhaps I am completely missing something here.. and it’s something really simple? If anyone can help me resolve this problem that would be greatly appreciated as I have already spent a considerable amount of hours trying to figure this out and nothing is working…
Thanks…
Lolla

I think you may need to add at least one product to "TOP".

Thanks for the reply Steve. However... I have created a product example at the TOP category tree and it's still not showing?
I'm stumped...
Cheers,
Lolla

Hi,
Please, do the following steps:
1) Make sure that 'Make this Product available for sales' checkbox is checked for all the products you mentioned.
2) In version 2.8 check whether the field 'Approved' is set to 'Yes'.
3) And finally, please check the Stock section. If you have enabled stock system and checked 'Hide Off Limits Products' checkbox you should have enough items in the stock in order this product is shown in the list.
Upon making these steps, please click the 'Update' button and check if the product appeared in the appropriate category.

Im updating this thread as I found another cause of products not appearing.
In creating a product if you select a language the product appears only in that language.
I'm running a site in English but the hidden product was tabbed to appear only in English. Thats logical BUT as no language "[en]" selection had been made the product didn't appear even though the only language used in "Static Tables" was English.
Changing the language tab to nothing made the product re-appear.
Unfortunately the error message didnt point up the problem. Ill raise a support ticket.
