Has anyone been able to include the UPS or USPS tracking number in the order shipped email? Thanks.

Again, I would be interested in this,
We don't use UPS/USPS but equally would like to know if it's possible for our couriers.

I asked this in the past. Their answer was:
------------------------
To add the Shipping Tracking Number information to the email you can use the {shipping_tracking_id} tag.
Thanks,
Diane.

I don't see it though listed in the online list of tags you can use. Looks like they need to update their list.

{shipping_tracking_id} doesn't work anymore, what's the current tag to use for a tracking number in the email?

Hi ccberries - this is the answer I got back from ViArt:
======================
Hello Danita,
We checked the code and it's working ok for order status notifications.
Please, note that you need first to update shipping tracking number and then change the order status to the status like "dispatched".
With regards,

I thought that's what I did in the first place but I haven't had a chance to check it yet. We may just send the tracking email from UPS anyways...

the tracking notices(e-mails) from UPS are better, plus you can let them know automaticly about delivery and exception (like when the address is wrong) which saves a whole lot of customer service research. I've found that if I first add the tracking number, update, then change the order to shipped I don't have a problem, but have not done a lot of testing to see if doing them both at the same time.
It really would have made sense that if you add a tracking number the order should automaticly be changed to "shipped".

for a regular link in your 'user notifications' email the following works
Some of the other shippers also have that style of link... it really saves a lot in customer service calls. In my 'shipped' e-mails I also include the UPS 800 number , their website and a readable tracking number. We also include the order number and ship-to name (we ship gifts) just so they know which box is being shipped.
The more info in the 'shipped' email: the less they are going to call or email you.
