I have just had another contributor e-mail me to join. Each additional contributor brings down the cost.
 
So, instead of the original $200 to join I can now invite anyone else who is prepared to contribute, a share for mere $75 to come on board.
 
Those of us still in for the larger amount will reduce our contributions accordingly; if we do get many more contributors we will share the excess equally with everyone.
 
After it is completed it will not be on general release for a long time as it will miss the next upgrade.
 
So, we will continue to offer it to further users and money received will continue to be shared around. I think that is fair?
 
This is a truly major feature and such a modest sum will undoubtedly have a dramatic benefit to your checkout process - and the reduction in unpaid orders. It will be so much easier for the buyer and everything is clearly on screen - all in one place.

The key is that the page will be modular so that each user can customize the checkout page as required.
 
Do respond again if you have any further comments or questions - but I am keen to put this to bed before the end of the year as it has rather dragged on and, given that it requires a lot of programming, I would like to get Viart started on it

I have looked at the pages mentioned. I have read them before. There are a number of examples given and then 2 final drawings. It is unclear what features Viart has agreed to integrate in the checkout page. I agree a single page checkout is an advantage, but I need to know what to expect in features and time frame to availability before I can commit funds.
 
You might have more success getting people to finance this with a better explanation of what is to be expected. You need a better sales presentation.

Every element of the current checkout process will be available to select as required and placed, as required by you, in your checkout - thus each element such as coupon, address, payment method, shipping, etc, will have its own block for placement.
 
Time scale - Viart cannot give this - programming should start once the new version is released, planned for end January. They say that this is a major feature but cannot commit to the timescale.
 
I am sorry, David, Ibn Saeed was driving this all the way; I have decided that it is something that will have a very positive outcome and have picked it up to share with anyone who wants to come in on it.
 
I have no problem if you need to know anything further and want to ask Viart about it.

Thanks Ibn Saeed and Chris for pushing on the one page checkout feature. I can't be an original contributor right now, but hope I can be one of your second tier participants after the new release. Great feature, just want to cheer you on at this point!
 
Any chance this feature or the new release will include a quick check of shipping rate by entering country and postal code?

Hello vic - this feature is only to tidy up the current process and enable us to put it all on one page.
 
However, as it will be modular I guess you could put the address module near the top of the page and follow this with the shipping block - that might be a solution?
