Could the page number / next / last link at the bottom of the page be duplicated at the top please?
Or could a page number link be placed in the Forum topics menu next to each thread title?
This would allow much easier navigation.

well, forum here is generally very rudimentary, while there are so many open source free solutions to just plug in...

Been asking for some changes to the forum for some time, I think they might be too busy

I suspect that they don't realise how much easier their lives could become if they had a fully functioning dynamic forum.

Absolutely. There are several people here now who are familiar enough with the product to make very helpful posts, however the search function is so limited they get burried rather quickly. If ViArt support answered more threads in the forum with official and functional solutions and had the ability to create sticky threads combined with a better search feature I truly think the load on Customer Support cold be cut in half and allow more time for bug fixes/development/ updating of the (sadly lacking) manuals.
This product has an absolutely incredible feature set for the price, and I truly believe it has the potential to be hugely popular and successful if only the most basic support systems such as the forum and the manuals/tutorial were updated and kept up.
One of the main ingredients for a successful program these days is active community support starting with a FUNCTIONAL forum with regular official contributions.
People have been asking for a long time for some revamping to the forum and I hope for the success of ViArt that time for some upgrades will be made soon.

Hello
I suggested Vanilla forum
ALso, there is another option which is free and open source. Its very powerful
Your points are so relevant Amanda. I know that I could get more from Viart software; I am sure that if I truly understood the purpose of some features I would use them better - some I do not understand the purpose at all and do not even consider them.
I appreciate that there are users with good programming experience but, even for us mere mortals, we could benefit so much from:
— a fully functioning forum [I am not into trying to recommend any - I am sure that those bright Viart people know what's available or what they need to do]
— a truly detailed manual - with tips and ideas as well as the strictly documentary.
I would rather all version development went on hold until this was done in support of so many loyal users.
It might also quell some of the negative comment which I find inappropriate for what I agree is an exceptionally good value feature-rich product.
Come on, Viart, how many signatures do you want on the petition????

Hello
Can someone from ViArt team atleast tell us their plans for the forum.
Are you going to implement a new forum ?
Or is it going to remain as it is?
Before knowing the stand of viart, we cannot assume anything.

Hello, everybody
First of all, thanks a lot to everyone's suggestions.
We do, of course, agree that our forum and manual require some improvements and more participation from our side. Till nowadays we mostly concentrated on adding more features and enhancements to our shopping cart. However, it is high time to pay the same attention to the advancing of our forum to make it as powerful as our sofware itself.
However, we would like you to know that we are not going to use any alien forums or other forum modules, neither free or paid ones. Our basic idea is to keep and maintain the whole ViArt structure for all possible requirements of websites and be able to control different blocks in the system. Since most of alien forums or modules do not possess such features we can't integrate them into our shopping cart.
At the same time we can assure you that we will make all possible efforts to improve the forum functionalities and attuning it to the level of the existing advanced forums as well as widening the features of our forum module in addition to all functionalities of ViArt Shop.
With kind regards,
ViArt Support Team

Thank you Anjula - with the quality of the e-commerce software in mind, I look forward to forum and manual updates.
Best wishes.

Anjula,
You do what you said above and I guarantee you will set a totally new standard in community ecommerce solutions and be an even more raving success.
Comments I get on my ViArt shopping cart by others so far are that it looks "updated". It doesn't have that typical boxy look of typical shopping cart software.
I can tell you guys/gals standards are very high and that you have major lofty goals, serious intention, and listen to your customers.
Once your forum is smoothed out, the demands on your support will go way down, and your time can be better spent in the amazing creativity you guys are so good at.
You have no idea how many shopping carts I've installed and dismissed. I think I've finally found one (yours) that will do what I need and will probably do more than I'll ever know.
Keep up the great work! I'm sure you guys may feel underappreciated sometimes but I'm telling you, you have put together an amazing product that is affordable to business people just starting out.
For that, I say THANK YOU! Please don't change the philosophy! :)

I'm currently using Vanilla on another of our sites and getting up to 200 posts per day. i would like to ease them off that forum and onto the viart which will just be one login for everything but because the viart forum is lacking in a few fundamental features I am failing to encourage more than a handful across to using our new Viart forum.
Please Viart, dedicate a bit more time to upgrading the forum.
We need,
* a Whos online
* inline images
* an all discussions page option for the latest posts as well as by category
* statistics
Users are like sheep. They don't like being alone and a recent visitor to my Viart forum said "it felt very cold in there".
