So I was looking for my "where is ViArt" forum and they deleted it. Rather than actually answering where they went, they deleted the forum...
ViArt....
Please respond/update us on what you guys are doing. We understand you guys get a delay here and there, but don't just delete our questions... post a response to them or say "hey, we are falling a little behind, so please bare with us" or something...

they deleted a bunch of stuff that night, from response time and cases not getting looked at , to how i fixed my viart hosted responce time problem (first turn off tracking, looking at removing unneeded code, then use a different host, use the contact us form at the ccberries web site for complete details), .. a few other threads are shorter as well.. maybe they thought we would not notice?

Yeah I noticed this too. Kind of angered me that instead of answering why they haven't been responding to people they just delete the post. I don't see any point in them doing this, it just makes it seem like they were trying to cover up their problems.

Hello,
Just a few words to explain.
A forum thread is deleted only in one case: if offensive or inpolite words and content are used. And such threads will be deleted without explanation.
In case you want to discuss or criticize any aspects of the product or service we provide we would like to ask you to do this in a correct way without using inpolite words. Otherwise, we'll keep the right to delete forum threads with such content.
Thanks for your understanding.
With kind regards,
ViArt Support Team

I think all developer team has bad days, and busy weeks. The last week was a busy one for Viart, cause of the server change.
I sent 2-3 questions about some changes and bug about the hosting, and they replied in 24-36hrs. Its not the best response time I ever get, but I know what is to transfer just few sites to a new server... That was more...
Would be the best, If Viart Team publish news, or annuncements in the Forum if some maintaining started like: "Viart Hosted will be moved to a faster server" etc.
But I'm pleased with them, they solved all problems, and the hosted sites are now really fast.

Good Morning (or at least in the US Central Time),
My original forum posting was nothing but a question. I asked a simple question "Where is ViArt". I didn't say anything negative at all, just not sure if it was a holiday out there, or if you guys were behind.
To simply delete the forum that I started, w/o responding or deleting only the specific posts to it that were too "negative", neglects the need to care for the customer in my opinion.
I've been with ViArt for 2+yrs and have spent a lot of money with you guys and have provided assistance to the community as well. For this response, I feel I am just being pushed off with no explanation or concern.

I think ViArt are fantastic. I email Support and within half an hour I have a reply. If you follow the correct procedure they are only too willing to help. Any problems I've found with the software is always rectified in a speedy manor by the friendly support team. Vera/Anjula are very good at their job. I'd just like to thank them for all their help and support over the months I've been dealing with them, anyone disputing this, is quite frankly, wrong!

Nathan, you are missing the point, there were several people that had cases that had not been looked at and a separate thread were someone was really annoyed about a purchased system coming with demo limitations. Other threads dealt with speed problems on the viart hosted sites. In the case of the "where is viart?" thread that Dan started there was more than one person that were in a similar situation. This was not an indictment of viart in general, it was more along the line of why are we not hearing from them now and when was the last time someone heard from them.

I'm with Nathan. I've been using ViArt for 18 months and find it to be by far the best cart under $1000 for my purposes. I tried LOTS of others. Companies like Volusion or 1 shoppingcart costing over $1000 per year are the only ones I've found with comparable features. (But not as good!) If you ask them for enhancements or fixes of any sort they say they'll put it on their list of things to consider. Maybe, someday.
I shudder every time a posting uses words like deficient or unacceptable or unsatisfactory. I prefer not to put people who I want to cooperate with on the defensive. Whoever did the deletions no doubt got carried away, but I sure do prefer forums that stay upbeat, and I'm sure it requires at least some editing by the host.
I very much appreciate all your posts and creative ideas on this forum, ccberries. But I remember you called ViArt "wackos" on the thread you refer to. If it was my forum I think I would have deleted at least that post, though maybe not the thread.
Towards a constructive forum and business success for all of us including ViArt,
Greg

Aren't we tired of all the complaints. Lets keep up the community here until a more structured one comes along. In the meantime, I really enjoy the threads here, and we need to have structured criticism with backup prior to making a statement.

I've been thinking about standing up a Viart board using VBulliten, and it is far more powerful and useful, but only if Viart would be interested in posting there. If there is interest, I'm willing to pay the bucks to buy and host it. But I would also delete any foul postings or angry rants.
If any of you have ever done software development and support, you know that customers are never satisfied, never done complaining or asking for new features, etc. A thousand people at Viart would not make the support any faster because instead of a handful of people being behind, a thousand people would be behind!
Let's all cut them some slack, and work among ourselves more to solve issues and let Viart focus on improving the product and giving support to the most pressing issues.
Let me know the interest, and if it's there, I'll get it done.

daviswe - so many of us have gone a similar route before. I wish you well and applaud your intentions but, sadly, doubt the outcome.

daviswe, I would welcome an alternative forum with more features, but as christopher0 stated, it's been tried before and not very successfully. One problem with prior efforts was that you had to pay for access, which is a population killer right off.
I agree that we should be patient, but seeing posts like "Where is Viart?" should be a red flag for Viart that they have unhappy users who aren't getting the response they expect. Any time you have unmet customer expectations, you need to pay attention, or risk losing business. The answer isn't to delete posts like this, but to communicate. Everyone understands being swamped with work from time to time. If it continually happens, though, that's a management issue.

I really cannot understand all this unhappiness.
I have used Viart for a very long time. If I have a problem I get very helpful and, generally, fast service from Anjula and the team.
Perhaps there is something in the way I ask for help?
For sure you will find it hard to find me complaining which, sadly, seems such a popular pastime.
As for this forum, I, like a number of regular users, try to give help. If many of you go elsewhere I will not be the loser but I shall miss being able to help.
