The flags used to represent the LANGUAGE countries, and the CURRENCY countries are very cool, but it's hard to know which country is which, or which currency is which just by looking at the flags (except the most obvious ones - US, GB, etc.)
Is there a way to add javascript that will, ON HOVER, show a label of the name of the LANGUAGE when a user places a cursor over each language flag, or the CURRENCY, when a user places a cursor over each currency flag?
This would improve usability dramatically as well as be extremely cool!
An example of the type of script I am talking about can be found on www.idevaffiliate.com. Place your cursor over some of the links on the left. These are not flags, but the demonstrate the functionality and coolness I am describing very well.
How can I do this with the Language and Currency Flags on Viart?
For example, I want to show "US Dollar", when a user places a cursor over the US currency flag, or "British Pound" when over the GB flag, and for the Language flags, just mention the language in both English and the foreign language...
Any help on this will be appreciated...
Thanks

Hi,
Actually, it is possible to change the flags presentation to a listbox control with the descriptions. This can be done via Administration > CMS > Site Layout > Home Page Layout. Select a block 'Languages' and tick off 'Show listbox for language selection' in the Language Block Settings.
As for currencies you can see the description of the currency, like: 'American Dollar' when you direct the mouse on the image (if you use IE). For Mozilla Firefox we have updated the 'block_currency' file. You can download an updated file at: http://www.viart.com/downloads/block_currency-3.1.zip. Unzip it and replace your current file with this updated file.

Let's not forget the use of the simple 'Alt Text' tag of HTML to show the country name when hovering over an image...no Javascript needed.
