Is it possible to set up a Buy one, get something else 1/2 price scenario using Special Offers??

I wish we could.

I ended up using a SUBCOMPONENT on the product. It allows you to pick another product and override the price. THe buy can then select the 1/2 price product or not.
 
My problem now is that I cannot get the SPECIAL OFFER text (that you enter at the same place you tick off "special offer" for the product) to show up in the Special Offer Block. How can I describe the Special Offer on the home page?? Oh geeze

It may be that some custom programming is required?
