How to create the small icon epearing on the left side of the explorer tab ?

You need to create an image called favicon.ico and put this in your root. The browsers will pick this up and use it.
 
It is an icon image and if you put favicon.ico into google you will find sites that can turn your image into the favicon.ico icon for you.

for some reason mine appears in Opera and Firefox, but not explorer either... I'm not sure what the issue is, but I know it works in other browsers
