Here is a fix for this problem:

Unzip the file and upload block_products_list.php in the 'blocks' folder.

This fix unfortunelly don't work on beta4.1

Using trial version downloaded on 6th Nov and I think this setting does not hide the sorting as described above still

Correction, it wasn't this setting. I removed the default filters block instead and tha resulted in the sorting as described above being removed. I think I have done the right thing anyway?
