ViArt Shop is supplied with nine layouts as default, 'Default', 'Curved', 'Silver', 'Convex', 'Fashion', 'Rainbow', 'Classic', 'Marine', 'Ecommerce'. You can choose either of these layouts according to the needs of your shop, or if you require, you can build your own one!
Bellow are the samples of screenshots for the 'Classic' Layout. This layout has four available schemes to choose from: blue, green, light blue, red. Select any scheme you prefer.

ViArt HelpDesk allows to create a request for each client. To do this, you should click Create Message Link and fill the appropriate form.
You or a support specialist may need to find some particular ticket. In this case, you can use a search tool available in the support centre.

One of the important modules of ViArt Shop is its Forum - an independent portal, intended to provide an online communication between shopping cart users as well as to offer useful information on numerous important issues. If a person has a problem or an idea he/she will have an opportunity to share it with others.
Forum consists of shopping cart related threads or issues which you and your users can exchange and which are later archived for future reference.
Before adding a new topic you should firstly choose the forum to which you want to post your question or issue.
You or someone from your support team may wish to join the discussion and give some piece of advice. In this case, you are to post an answer to a thread.
Categories are 'parents' to forums and are used to hold a group of forums. Your users are unable to post their messages to categories, they can only post their threads to forums. A site which has only a few forum discussion boards may not need any categories. However, if your site has a lot of forum modules, it will be useful for you to create a category.
Sometimes, you may need to create multiple forums for different areas of discussions.
With forum settings you have the possibility to customize your forum according to your requirements. First of all, you should set the global settings.

The first thing that you need to do after you have installed ViArt Shop, is set up the main parameters. In order to do this please go to Administration > System > Global Settings.


Site Settings

These settings describe the main site's adjustments such as site URL and administrator's e-mail. See the picture below:



You need to fill out the following fields:

  • Site URL specifies the URL to access your ViArt Shop via the Web. It is widely used when sending email messages containing links.
  • Administrator Email - specifies the default email that will be used to send Administrator's email notifications.
  • Active Layout specifies which 'layout' is currently used for the system. ViArt Shop supports multiple-layout schemes i.e. there can be several different layouts and administrator can select one as 'active'. For more information see section 73.4.1

  • Note: These fields have already been filled in with the data you provided while installing ViArt Shop, but you can make any changes if necessary.

  • Default Country specifies the default country used on your store. The field is extremely useful if you are going to run your e-commerce business only in one country. In such a case you can remove the 'Country' field at all e.g. while registering a new client or setting up delivery options. It also effects the taxes added to your product cost (for more info about taxes see section 74.5).
  • Password Encryption specifies how all the passwords will be stores in database: non-encrypted or encrypted with MD5 algorithm.

  • Note: Should you choose the ‘Use MD5 for encryption’ option there won’t be any possibility to restore passwords but only to set new ones and therefore you won’t be able to change the setting to ‘None’. Please do choose carefully.

    The option affects the process of restoring forgotten client passwords as well. For more information see section 78.3.

  • HTML Editor specifies the type of editor you prefer while editing articles: Textarea or WYSIWYG ('what you see is what you get').

Secure Site Settings



When dealing with private information such as credit card numbers you may want to guarantee its safety. With ViArt Shop this can be performed very easily, all you have to do is enter your secure site URL and tick the pages you want to be secure.

Note: There are two more security-related topics: security issues (see section 72.5) and credit card security (see section 74.2.1.2)


Tracking Settings

In general, tracking is monitoring a process or the results of an action. ViArt Shop helps you obtain more detailed statistics by offering the following two tracking labels: Site visits and Page Views. Knowing the data will allow you to have a closer look on your online shop's performance and might provide with some answers on what is right and what is not.

Reviews Settings

With ViArt Shop visitors of your store will be able to rate products and post their comments.



  • Products Review enables/disables product reviews on your site.
  • Approve reviews. This option specifies whether reviews are moderated before publishing. Once set to 'Yes' all reviews will be shown first at Administration section and only after approval - on the site. For more information see section 75.8
  • Reviews per page specifies the number of reviews per page. The default value is 10, however you can choose from 5 to 100.

Top Rated

'Products (Top Rated)' is an automatically generated section containing the most popular products. By default it is displayed on the main page but you can easily change its location.



  • Minimal Rating. This option determines which products should be added to the 'Products (Top Rated)' section. By default it contains products that have a rating higher than the 'Minimal Rating' value, so you can adjust the value to show more or less products.
  • Minimal Number of Votes specifies the number of votes a product needs to be shown in the 'Products (Top Rated)' section.
Note: While rating products (or articles) your customers will be asked to choose from ‘Bad’, ‘Poor’, ‘Average’, ‘Good’ and ‘Excellent’ meaning ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘3’, ‘4’ and ‘5’ correspondingly. You can edit these values at the ‘Static messages' section. For more info see section 81.6.
HTML Settings on Main Page
With ViArt Shop you can specify HTML settings for all pages of your online store. Filling out the following fields will specify the ones for the main page.



  • HTML Title, Meta Description and Meta Keywords. These fields assign corresponding HTML tags of the main page of your store.
  • Greetings/Introduction. Text from this area will be shown immediately under the navigation section but only on the main page.
  • Footer body. Text from this area will be shown at the bottom of all pages of your site. You can put some information about your company or links to your policies here. For more information about footer see section 103.23.
In order to save the changes you made click the 'Update' button. If you want to leave without saving, click 'Cancel'.
