Does anyone know or have experience with SEO concerning Viart webshops.
 
I have an European international webshop (4 languages) and have problems to get me listed in the Google search results on my most important keyword (the product that I am selling).
I am not banned from Google (when you search on 2 or more words you can find my site in the Google results).
The problem is that when you search on my most important keyword I am not listed on Google, even though my site has many products and lost of texts.
Also the site is already online for more than 1 year.
It is even not in the first 200 results and I can tell you there are lots of sites in the first 200 results that do have nearly no relation with the keyword where my site have very much relation about the subject.
 
Maybe it could be a problem that the site is 4 languages, maybe Google doesn't like that.
Is there anyone who has the same experiences with the Google listing when you have a multi-language site.
 
Maybe it could be a solution to make it a MULTI-DOMAIN site with 1 database, but 4 different domains. Maybe then I could try to get onto the top of the Google search results.
Again, does anyone have experience concerning this?
 
I am selling well with my webshop, but now I have to buy for large amounts Google Adwords to get clients. And that is eating nearly all the profit that I could make with the webshop.

I think the problem is when you click to optional language the website should turn complately to taht specific language even the
main page, catagories, products etc without showing language code on friendly url.... This kind of paramaters kills the seo of viat shop. Also you can be able adding at list 24 keywords separately for each language on the main page. So when the website turning another language it should be complately runnig in that specific language without ahowing language parameters. I think i m ready to pay extra for this kind of seo related updates like W3 css, xhtml validiated themes, image alt tags and better sitemap generator...

Nothing is wrong in having multiple langauages. I have sites ranking top10 for some keywords. Infact have multiple language boosts your serps. It all depends on your off page optimization. You can email me at karakash@msn.com, if you are looking for SEO services with results.

Most important factor in SEO is the offpage optimisation for 4-5 years. If You want to rank good for some keywords, you need to link Your site, and Your site's subpages with links that's archor text (the linked text) is the specific keyword.
 
Also if you want Google to see all Your site's pages, you need to generate the sitamap.xml, and submit it in the Google Webmaster tools. By this You can force Google, to see all languages, and content.
 
There are problmes, and difficulties with viart of course:
You have the same..
- friendly url
- Alt tags
- Meta tags
for all your languages... but in most cases this is not the biggest problem, use Your product name, and You will have good resoults.
 
And play with the article section. In my opinion, articles could be the best way to rank well on SERP. Use the RSS feature, and submit Your RSS to RSS submission sites, blog catalogs, etc. You can submit Your product RSS too...

Are there other persons that do have Viart webshop where they use multi languages. Does your SEO work okay for those webshops or can't you be found on the one most important keyword ?
I like to know if I can go on with my current multi-languages webshop or if it is maybe better to create multiple sites (on the same database).

having multiple languages gives you advantage in SEO. Search engines provide your site for results in local language.

ofcourse having duplicate pages are very bad. This means same content in different URL's are a very negative thing especially for google. I am using viart only with one language. But I should tell you that Viart is one of the best SEO shopping carts if you really care about meta description, meta title and a good product title for each product you list. And yes having backlinks increase your rating a lot. Here I mean try to get links from different web pages.
 
I have tested many shopping carts and SEO friendly URL option does not exist as good as it is in Viart. Viart directly puts your product title in the URL. You should never blame Viart for being punished from Search engines. Use your robots.txt well, add your sitemap xml file to google (thru google webmaster), and try to be as specific as possible in your product descriptions.
