We have all country selectable for registration because we want users from everywhere to register and participate in our forums. But we only sell goods to our home country.
Does anyone know of a simple way to accept registrations for all countries, but limit the order process to only one country?
Thanks.

Hi Five5:
I believe the way it works is as follows:
A) Go to Admin>Shipping Rule, here you set the shipping country where it can be shipped to.
B) In your products section, there is a Tab that says 'Stock&Shipping" at the bottom of this screen you set your Shipping restrictions to what you selected in A) above. This restriction will show on your product detail page in the Specification section, which warns the client.
I believe you can also set the restrictions in the various shipping modules.
Hope this works for you.

Five5,
Yes, if you go to your shipping methods setup, and click on the 'Shipping Type' and click edit next to each method, you can restrict to certain user types, sites, countries, and states.
Hope this helps.

It looks like when I change the all shipping method to only be used within our home country it does not restrict the customer placing an order. It simply removes all shipping methods from being available to the customer, but they can complete the order with no shipping methods selected at all.
So I will need to use the Shipping Rule "Can ship only within XXXXX" and adjust every product in the database to use that rule using the "Stock & Shipping" screen.
