Finally release 3.4 has arrived

anyone have the know how to perform the upgrade while keeping all customer information and product information in-tact?

It should be a simple save / backup .. then upgrade in CMS /System/System Upgrade and then viola - done. Or am I being too hopeful?

How I can upgrade? Is it need to payment? I just brought 2 month only

Update to 3.4 is free afaik.
 
We went through updates from 3.3.2 to 3.3.15 and 3.3.16 and now to 3.4. My advise below.
 
To update you need to upload all files in the 3.4 package except the following folders: admin/images, images, includes/fonts, download, video and docs.
 
After uploading you login to the admin panel and click on "Administration -> System Upgrade". You will see the new version and it will let you do the database update.
 
After that delete the install*.* files in root and the folder "db".
 
It has been our experience that 3.4 breaks custom templates due to the updated template management module. We had errors on our checkout pages and in the user login area (Block "middle" not exists).
 
I strongly suggest to do the upgrade in two steps:
 
1. Take a copy of your shop and database and perform the update. Then check templates and make sure everything works.
 
2. Update live system with updated templates.
 
Generally our impression of 3.4 is good, it has some neat new features like the option to generate an invoice depending on order status as well as many other improvements.

If You got errors in common_functions.php, just get in to the currencies, and edit all off the actual curr settings to fix it!

An additional feature which I sponsored is that if you create a multi-language site the sub menus now don't display as an empty box if theres no language tag present.
 
This means you can tailor menus to specific areas - for example you might sell a very heavy item in (and for delivery only in) the UK and in English but this item can be invisible in other language selections.

also, all of my existing customers have been given a random country of residence- ahhhh and there orders dont have a state label anymore.

this is a bug... it removed them from mine as well as the option to show and being required.

Mark, have you updated all your templates and compared them with the ones in \templates\users ?
 
Some templates have changed to only display body components, these previously had page content.
 
We had similar issues, but found that they where resolved by copying the new templates to our custom design.
 
Note 100% sure this is really your issue, but I can't imagine Viart not testing the cc routines.

This was an issue that hit my site as well, however viart fixed it for me.
 
Yes, this solution is definately getting better. It's not the most good looking peice of software, but the features are great!

Hi Dick, yes i have the problem even with all new user/templates. Just offering PayPal at the moment. There's always frustration when updating, sometimes small, sometimes large :(

What we found till now with 3.4 are the following issues:
 
1. Template system changed. Considerable checks required to make a custom template of 3.3 compliant with 3.4.
 
2. VAT validation in checkout page is not working. "global $vat_validation;" is missing in block_order_info.php. Added manually and works again.
 
3. Missing strings in admin_messages language file (site url and site name). Added manually, issue fixed.
 
4. When users login, the page is reloaded aligned to the botton instead of the top. When user is logged in, page refresh aligned to bottom and not top.
 
Thats all we found till now, generally though the new features are excellent and this product is really becoming a feature rich ecommerce solution. We really like it.

It always happens.

We still have checkout errors when processing 2CheckOut with 3.4.1. Tried to "pay" by clicking checkout and registering.
