Looks like a lot of work, especially if you have many products. The coding for oEmbed seems reasonably straightforward, tho.

daviswe - Any idea which is better... oEmbed or Facebook Open Graph? Pinterest says it handles both.

I'm interested in looking at Share42, AddThis or ShareThis to add to the site.
 
Share42 seems the easiest

Biggest issue I have for all is pulling the correct data for the page I am on to push to their code.

Exactly, dmoz! I have implemented AddThis, but the facebook especially doesn't pull correct info. From what I can tell (and I know just enough to screw things up) we need to have face opengraph protocol implemented. I don't know how to do that. Initial quote for doing this was $200, but since it wasn't completely clear what was needed, that could definitely go up.

But I know FB needs (to be confirmed - im working on it now) special 'og' tags - especially for any images to be referenced for the post.
