I really think we need to give ViArt a little bit more time. They ARE indeed moving forward, and I feel like we're going to get the ViArt to the place we once had it.
I am waiting on their release to prove this to me, but I DEFINITELY feel we need to hold back and see... from what Vera has been saying, they're working and I want to believe they are indeed!
ViArt,
Way to go. Let's see this SOON. We need something that works, so don't release it half-way done, but PLEASE hurry so we can keep our community in place.

I forgot to mention how much I HATE joomla! Just putting that out there. If anyone wants to compare ViArt's system to Joomla based on CMS, ViArt's system definitely wins. Hands down.

Good afternoon.
What is the "-multi-shipping module"?
What is the difference from the v4.08?

Good afternoon.
What is the "-multi-shipping module"?
What is the difference from the v4.08?
It's a possibility to assign individual set of shipping methods per product. For example, if you deliver some product from a different location and need to apply special shipping rates - now you can do it by creating a new Shipping Module with new shipping methods and assign this Shipping Module to product.

That's fine for you TOCDO and allkindofbeauty - I have a partner who regularly comments about his frustrations with failed expectations. We are end users without the skills to modify or add features ourselves.
The software is a tool in the management of our business and not an end in itself. So Viart is a supplier just as our distribution channels and PC hardware and product suppliers
Sure, I really don't want to go through the mountain of work to make the change. The reason I post my situation here is in the hope that I can get enough resolution to all these issues that keeps my partner happy and makes Viart properly work for us. And not at some date in the distant future
I agree it is excellent software - well almost; and I will give space in expectation that Vera will resolve all these niggling details.
Having invested a lot in using Viart over the years of course I would prefer to continue with it; but I will not be with the business for for so much longer - we all age sadly - and I have to be sure that I leave the business in a state that is easy for the less experienced users who follow on from me.

Vera - the problems with blocks:
1 If they listed alphabetically [CMS > CMS > CMS Pages > Layout ] they would be faster to find when adding to a layout
2 If the editor was better featured I would not have to keep editing HTML and previewing.
3 If the pagination [CMS > CMS > Custom Blocks ] was more detailed it would allow me to move through pages more easily.
These must seem such small points but for a user they are a part of the whole day's work and are very frustrating.

- orders reports look nice but do not provide accurate and useful financial data
Please give us more information what is not okay and what other details you wish to display there.
Vera
====================================
If I go to Orders in Admin I get: [I have used fictional numbers of course]
Paid 33817
Not Paid 814
Failed 308
If I click on Paid or Not Paid I get the same data
Only clicking Failed gives me the correct [failed orders] listing. Clicking PAID also shows me 'Unpaid' and 'Failed'
But that is - I guess - for all orders since the start?
I need to be able to get Current month, last month, and prior months - and comparisons, etc.
I know I can go to my orders and use filters but that makes the analysis about pointless?
More important is the Summary Stats
The line [Sales] is only of value if it show new/paid/delivered sales. It shows every sale registered including Unpaid and Failed. Sadly this manes the figure has no use. I just need to know how much money I took in the period and from how many orders/customers.
In the same manner the number ORDERS is inflated because one customer tried three times to order and each order failed. So my actual orders we less than shown - again this would make sense if unpaid and failed orders were not included.
We need a way to specify just which categories of order/customer should be included in stats?
Site visits - I would very much like to know how many people have visited. But the figure is loaded with bots and crawlers so the figure does not help me at all.
When I download sales for accounts analysis I specify which categories I need but still get other categories included - despite doing the filter and search on [Orders] and selecting [Export Filtered].
As mentioned before the stats include everything - we only consider it and order if PAID.
I f click on #Items it give items sold for all orders - inclucing unpaid. I only need to know the products for which we have received PAID orders as these are what we expect to ship. And, we need to have these net of refunds as these products will, of course, not be shipped.
Finally, whilst I can get a [Products] report what really matters is our top sellers [Products Delivered] - by specified periods and comparisons.
I hope that is a helpful start to reviewing stats. I had time I could possibly give more but perhaps I could leave this with you for consideration?

I'm also no fan of Joomla. If I were to move to a CMS based system with eCommerce, I'd be more likely to move to a WordPress/Woo Commerce deployment. However, for our store we'd move to another enterprise level cart, Magento being the top contender currently.
I'm all for waiting for the next release, but I have very high expectations at this point, and hope I won't be disappointed.
As far as orders reporting, some of the metrics that are most useful would be
- conversion rates
- purchases by traffic sources
- ability to drill down to see what customers purchased which products, for follow-up and cross-sell opportunities.
- abandonments reports

NTM I mention Joomla as I use it for my local community site and it is extremely good. The carts are commercial with support.
The decision is simply confidence that Viart will continue to improve the product in the ways I need it and affordably.
I don't want to criticise of a good product that has served me well so far but the online shopping world is changing fast and I don't want my software to go badly out of date and become a serious cost to my budget to keep updating, usually for features that mostly don't help me.
Let's wait and see what we get. I will remain hopeful.

Thank you! So now I can start plan my time so I will be able to fully translate the whole system before introducing it to my customers, and before they are too tired of waiting..
I really hope for this to be true but sadly I have been disappionted som many times before..

Lenny, we're also at a decision point, whether to stay with Viart or go with another solution. Would be interested to know what others you're considering.

NTM, Let em say up from that I really want to go with Viart, very easy to work with, the only draw back for me is the current versions lack of support for Drop Shippers. That being sa i I have looked at CS-Cart (Awesome Platform) X-Cart also pretty good if you go Professional.

Hello AllKindof,
I have 2 licenses of cs-cart and I have 2 licenses ViArt ..
CS-CART is truly comprehensive, professional and graphically with the last system CSS3 is really brilliant ..
I also like the filters of CS-CART (ViArt not as)
ViArt for me is comparable to CS-CART but with obsolete technology (Ajax, Rich, CSS3 ..)
ViArt for me, is much safer than the other carts

Thank you for all the feed back. For me its really simple, I will wait until the end of August, if the new version is not out, or if it doesn't have true drop shipper support I will then go to CS-Cart. I am not very good at coding, and Viart is easier to work with, but I will do what I need to do. I need to have site #1 up by end of September and #1 by December 31, so End of August is drop dead for me.
