We sell multiple products and would like to have the ability to categorise the newsletter subscriptions per product. E.g. when customer buys product A, he is added to the newsletter list for product A and so on for B, C, etc.
 
This would allow us to easily perform target marketing mailshots to migrate users to other versions.
 
Related question: Is there a simple way to integrate 3rd party newsletter systems? Anyone has experience with that?

I do not use the Viart newsletter system. People are very concerned about privacy nowadays and Viart's system is not compliant with good practice. It's nto their fault, it's just not their market. To get around this and make my customers feel good about my privacy policies, I use http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp
 
They have a html generator that you can paste into a Viart block and include wherever you want on your site.
 
It costs money but it is a professional approach to privacy concerns.

I'm not sure how Viart doesn't use the privacy concerns. With the updated version: 3.4.2, I don't see how this doesn't provide what we're looking for?
 
I agree with DickS that we should advance the newsletter feature...
 
I like to see what we can keep with the current system, whether upgrading or whatever, because it keeps everything integrated into ONE single software implementation.
 
If we all paid that "monthly charge" once, for the customized work it wouldn't cost much for us. Everyone chipping in 20-30 bucks, would probably pay for the customized work. That's how we need to get things accomplished here... not outsourcing...
