Notes on Upgrading:
If you are upgrading a version of ViArt Shop that is older than v2.3, you need to request a Serial Number and download your license file from here
Information on activating ViArt Shop is available here
Serial numbers are avialable free to any current customer of ViArt Shop, as long as you are still entitled to free updates.*
If you do not obtain a license file, your ViArt Shop installation will display an 'Evaluation Version' message at the top of the screen.
Important information on real-time shipping options
Users intending to make use of the real-time shipping options will not be able to upgrade their previous version of ViArt Shop in the usual
manner
If you specificaly require the real-time shipping options, you must create a new ViArt Shop installation, just as you did when you first installed ViArt Shop to your server: More information on installing ViArt is available here
You will also need to create a new database and let ViArt v2.4 populate it. Once done, simply export the two new tables (listed below) to .sql dump files for importing later:
- va_shipping_modules
- va_shipping_modules_parameters
Once done, simpy follow the usual upgrade processon your old ViArt Shop.
Finally, import the two new database tables into your old ViArt Shop's database structure and everything should work just fine; all shipping options will available and your old site should be intact.
*Serial numbers will be sent to the email address specified by the customer on initial puchase of ViArt Shop.
