Also, in upgrade process, it shows.

SQL: ALTER TABLE va_header_links CHANGE COLUMN sudmenu_style_name submenu_style_name VARCHAR(64)"
Thank you.

Are there any database changes from 3.4.1 to 3.4.2, or will uploading the new files be sufficient?

Hello GingerSue,
You can just use this link to download modified files: http://www.viart.com/downloads/3.4.2_changes.zip
Unzip the archive and replace the old files with the new ones. Don't forget to make a backup of the old files in order something goes wrong.
There were no database changes from 3.4.1 to 3.4.2, so it will be sufficient to just replace the updated files.

Hi Anjula,
Would be a great help if these "changes" packs are available from the users download section, or as separate download listed on a page.
I'm really happy that this is available as it makes upgrading a lot easier.

I can't find 3.4.2 in any of the files downloaded from the link above, and I can't find any differences between 3.4.1 and 3.4.2.
Are you sure you posted the correct version of the files?
Also, the link in the on the upgrade page just takes you to the main ViArt page where the only choice for download is the entire viart_shop-3.4.tar.gz.
Is that now the 3.4.2 version?

Never mind.
I went ahead and downloaded the full version from your site and re-did all of our changes.
We really need to get only the actual changes in the future though.
Almost none of the files were changed from 3.4.1 to 3.4.2, which caused an enormous amount of work because all of the versions in all the files were changed and I had to look through diffs of every file.

There was an individual file listed above with JUST the changes

I have the same issue after downloading just the files that changed and running the upgade again as stated in the administration the program first asked me to upgrade the data base to 3.4.1 I did that and now the program says I have version 3.4.1 not 3.4.2 even though I uploaded all the files in the 3.4.2 changes zip file.

Knowledge has it that 3.4.5 is now released. I don't know why they don't tell us what is being updated and provide patches from current versions. Files that need to be replaced for current users. At least the latest versions.

Got this error message after trying 3.4.5
"Notice: Undefined variable: property_function in [removed]/shop/includes/items_properties.php on line 542"

This is quite mad. In future i will force myself to wait 1 month before downloading a new version. I have gone from 3.40 to 3.41 to 3.42 and now I should do 3.45 all in the space of a week and a half. Each time it takes quite some time to update all the new templates to the way they were before.

Mark, I agree but with one limitation and that is when updating from 3.4.1 no template changes are required anymore.
@Dan: I also don't understand the policy. It seems 3.4 was released way to early and the customers are paying the bill.

SO if i just overwrite all files except the temlates it's ok?
DickS

Update as follows:
1. Download complete package and unzip
2. Delete folders:
- docs
- downloads
- all "images" and "fonts" (also in includes and admin, etc.)
- editor
- messages (only in case you changed the original strings!)
- sms
- styles
- swf
- video
After that upload what is left and overwrite. Template folder is very important and absolutely needed. I strongly suggest you copy your customized template to a different folder and not changing the ones in "user".
Then login to the admin panel and click on System-> System Upgrade. Perform the database update.
Then delete the files "install.php" and "install_zend.php" from viart root folder and the "db" folder.
After that you're all set. Hope this small guide helps.
Cheers!

Thanks for that.
It fixed one problem with the checkout but did not fix my options problem on products list/details pages. Still doesn't update page prices.

I tried to follow DickS's instructions above to upgrade from 3.4.5 to 3.4.7. I deleted all the folders he mentioned from 3.4.7 after unzipped, then copied the rest to the 3.4.5 directory. However, when I logged back to admin>system upgrade, it still showed 3.4.5 with the message "the new version was detected" and I don't see any "apply update" button people had mentioned above?
Any help appreciated!

Hi,
Please check if your includes/common.php file contains the following line
define("VA_RELEASE","3.4.7");
If no, try to change release constant to "3.4.7".
Thanks,
Eugene
