I have the "Sales Orders" section set to display all orders. I currently only use Paypal for orders and a few days ago I kicked off a book give away. So people can come on my site and order this one book and the price for this book was set to $0. Originally the problem I had was when this was set to $0 the cart was still forcing people to go to Paypal which of course would not let them order the book because the price was at $0. So some people went ahead and put in $.01, ordered a book they had to pay for or paid $3 for the autographed version of the book. I have can see those orders under "Sales Orders". But I didn't want people to pay so I abandoned offering it for free using the shopping cart script. Then I decided to offer it for free but charge people $3 for shipping. So then I made the price $0 again and went through hell trying to get it to charge $3 for shipping. I finally got that to work and guess what? Now those orders don't show up anymore under "sales orders".
 
I'm thinking it's not showing up because the price is $0 for the item. But this is terrible. If someone orders something, the order goes to completion it should show up. Now I'm having to check paypal to see if there are any of these orders. Also at the bottom of "sales orders" these items are only showing up in the "export new orders" link. I would like to treat free items as any other order.
 
Is this how this cart is supposed to behave?

The cart shouldn''t work this way. I would recommend that you open a support ticket to get them to take a look. If they provide a fix, please update this thread so we'll all know.

We have checked the orders with zero value and it seems they work in the same way as the orders with value larger than zero.
It would be great if you provide us with more informations on this issue.

A. I am unable to process free items with free shipping. The cart forces people to use the payment systems no matter what.
 
So I just decided to charge $3 for shipping. That works and people are able to order without a problem.
 
But on the administrative end, these orders are no longer showing up when you go to Sales orders. The only way I can get them is to either go directly to Paypal, or there is a link that appears at the bottom that counts the number of new orders and I have to download that as a CSV file.
 
I'll keep poking around. It seems like there is a problem with the sales order filtering. How can it record the orders and put them in the CSV listing but not have them show up anywhere else in the reports or sales order lists or even in the "paid" counts.....

If for some reasons your order has status which is not availalbe in the sytem then in the orders list you can't see such order.
Please download our latest version of admin_orders.php with a fix of this problem at
http://www.viart.com/downloads/admin_orders.zip
You have to replace your current version of file 'admin/admin_orders.php' with new one.
