Just contacted Viart regarding implementing an order editor to the Cart.
Their reply is as follows:
===============================
Hello Ibn,
As these functionalities will be included in ViArt shopping cart the prices were already lowered (in case of individual order the price estimation is usually much higher):
1. Ability to add/update/remove items for existed orders. ($200)
2. Ability to create a sub-order from existed one ($300)
But, as this is quite good functionality we can give a special 10% discount for these functions.
Please, let us know in case it is interesting for you so that we issue a discount coupon.
With regards,
Natalia

==================================
Since they would give a 10% Discount, the total cost would come down to
$450.00
Who wants to contribute ?
Target = $450.00
To finish, we need: $450.00
OR 20 pledges from each of = $22.50
OR 10 pledges from each of = $45.00
OR 5 pledges from each of = $90.00
If 20 people join this funding, each would have to pay $22.50 and similarly, if 10 people join , each would have to pay $45.00 and so on..

Hello
Guys, I think we can collected more than $200.
Do you think that we should go for
1. Ability to add/update/remove items for existed orders. ($200)
and leave out the following feature:
2. Ability to create a sub-order from existed one ($300)
If you agree, we can leave out the second feature since no one is joining.
Atleast we can get part 1 started on.
What do you say ? Would you guys like to wait or should we start with part 1.

I have read through much of the previous thread on this function. Buy would it be possible to have the remaining function (1) written out again to see if I want to join in but am not misunderstanding what it is going to achieve? Sorry if I am a pain.

This is what I am thinking of how the order editor should work.
Viart team saw the Order Editor eample video and this is their responce:

Hello Ibn,
Thank you for the additional info.
Yes, it will work in a similar way but as Viart has more item fields new products will be added on a separate page. For other things it will have quite a similar logic.

Will this editor take account options and subcomponents etc or will we only be able to add "parent" products

Hi Saeed.
Can I check on what you are saying please. Are you dropping out and need someone to take over communicating with ViArt and make sure the payments come in? Or are you still in and would like to have someone ensure the payments come in from those who pledged?
I am happy to do one or the other. But someone closer to the original request/specification may be better maintaining requirements comms with ViArt. And comparing delivery with requirements.

Hello
Someone needs to collect the money from those who pledged.
Also, try and get on the same page with the Viart team on the workings of this feature. Its very difficult to get what you want.
I will contribute the amount. Anyone can take over the feature.

I'll contribute to the cause. Nobody has mentioned this since Januray, what's the current status? I like the idea of going outside the main Viart to a separate order editor. It makes sense to have a clean environment and lower overhead to add this. Since it's just a new bunch of scripts, 'integration' really is meaningless as long as the scripts do the job they need to do.
