I am getting a lot of server downtime. (Please - I do not want any suggestions on moving to another server - I tried that once and still had problems).
The ISP says that their servers are very reliable and that the problem must be in the activity - possible software related. I have put a ticket into Viart as they are usually very helpful.
However, as some of you guys are somewhat smarter than me, I wondered whether I could get any advice.
The ISP suggested that there could even be something like an mySQL query that causes it to fall over. I just don't know.
My shop is quite large [1,000 products plus a large number of product options] and visits are around 1,500 per day - I do not use visit logging; this was done to avoid slowing processing.
I am looking for any ideas or help that anyone can give - I have gone down three times already this month ... a total of seven times in the last three months.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris:
I am sorry, I have no solution, but you are right about your shop going down. I was trying to check out your shop and could not get to it.
Hope it all works out soon.
Me thinks it your hosting site.

You shouldn't have problems seeing my site, http://www.malikstores.co.uk as it usually only goes down for a short period before we discover this and get it re-instated. Except this week when it was down over night and we lost almost a day's business.
Anjula is being very helpful - Viart will look at my server logs when there is next a problem to see whether they can advise me. One benefit of using such a good software provider!

My ISP is generating logs. When the server next goes down Viart will check these to see whether they have any issues - which they do not expect.
