Virat is not coded to use Maestro with PayPal.

I have created a new item in Administration > Static Tables > Credit Cards

ID Credit Card
11 Maestro

Credit Card Code * Maestro
Credit Card Name * Maestro

Yet PayPal still does not seem to understand the card type (using PayPal Pro PayPal API)

My customers get the error message:
SOAP-ENV:Client: Data type '' mismatch in element 'CreditCardType'

I have missed something?

I have not been able to get an answer yet from Viart. I really would like to find someone who can help me.

For MAESTRO I have tried Maestro [see below**] but PayPal always returns:

Some errors occurred during handling your transaction:
SOAP-ENV:Client: Data type '' mismatch in element 'CreditCardType'

So, I just need to know what I send to PayPal when a customer uses MAESTRO cards.

These are the codes in Credit Card Types
Administration > Static Tables > Credit Cards:

VISA = Visa
MASTERCARD = MC
SWITCH = Switch
AMERICAN EXPRESS = AMEX
MAESTRO = ** ?????????

--- is this where my problem lies.?
If you have MAESTRO set up for payment your help would be appreciated Wink

Thanks

Chris

I picked up on this thread on the PayPal developers' forum:

==================================
In the Direct Payment, does PayPal Pro UK accept Maestro Cards?
In the dev guide it says,
ACCTTYPE can be
0 = Visa
1 = MasterCard
8 = Other
9 = Switch
S = Solo
Now am I right in saying Maestro cards are the same as Switch cards, so I would use 9? Or would I use Other, or are maestro cards not supported.
==================================
Hi, Yes "Switch" has been superceded, but there will be a lagging period where existing people who have cards branded "switch" will still be able to use their cards, hence the reason lots of retailers are still showing the switch logos.
In regards to your question, Switch and Maestro are synonymous terms. They would all use code 9.
==================================

I will try MAESTRO = Switch and see what happens - perhaps I can still find a VIART user who understands all this I don't know
