I have viart setup on a personal PC using apache. I want to be able to send emails via SMTP. We have a bellsouth internet connection and I've tried to send emails via gmail and bellsouth... it always gives me an "internal server error". If anyone has a fix for this, could you please let me know.

Bellsouth settings:
 
server: smtp.bellsouth.net
port: 25

i've seen bellsouth block port 25 before, try 26

thanks ccberries. I tried 26, but still no luck. I also did some research on belllsouth and port 25, along with calling technical support. They said the block is only there if you dont have a valid username and password.
 
I tried a couple other programs where it's working fine, and bellsouth said if its getting through those, then its the software package Im using. (Finger pointing time! lol.)
 
Any other ideas? Or maybe there's another route i can take to get this working?
