Support live chat is always offline, temporary accounts not fixed, no new articles since May 2008 etc....is Viart still in business or just not updating their site/ sales tools?

Viart is certainly OK - I have had quite a lot of work done by them recently - use support if you need any help and you will get response.
 
Viart sadly does not tend to communicate well on site but you get used to this after a while - just talk to them and you will find they are there.
 
I also understand that a new version is imminent - Viart always seems to go quiet at such times - I guess they all become committed to this and tend to neglect all else - that's OK by me.

I just contacted them yesterday and received a reply within hours.

They are definitely alive, but probably stressing the changes and trying to adapt.
 
When your last announcement - blog entry is 8/11/09 4:22 PM, your PHP can't support the latest PHP 5.3+, your forum looks like it is collecting dust, and you require zend optimizer which zend considers outdated... it's probably time to break out a Viart 4.0 idea.
 
I'm still a fan and will be back when things are good and up to date. For now, I'm "VACATIONING" with Magento.
