But as I said, there should be incentives for those who contribute as this would encourage more people to contribute.

It's quite a nice idea but here can be quite a lot of questions and problems about how to implement it in the right way.
 
Anyway I think we start with upgrading our viart.com site to latest release where we will be able to activate points system which later can be used for some bonuses and other rewards to our best customers.

you would have to upgrade your forum in order to integrate it with Points System based on who opened the original new feature fund and who joined in financially.

Lets see what changes come up at the end of this month in terms of a viart website and 3.5 viart cart.
 
I think May would be a month to look upon.

I have e-mailed Dan & your-shoppingcouk to ask them to respond here about their interest in ordering this feature but, as you can see, no responses. I also don't know whether viart.customer is interested.

I also want this feature and I use a similar way of tell a friend in my present shopping cart.
 
It would definitely be easier for those who have ordered to recommend new people along with a discount.
 
Chris, there is one problem. I think for such a feature, $600 is alot.
 
I am ready to chip in for this feature as this would definitely encourage more sales.

I admit sharing this between two is a bit much - but if the others shared it would become very attractive.
 
But, rather like the others we have been involved sharing, I suspect that many people would have us buy it and then wait for the next release

The trouble is, if some of us do not get this moving then it just may *never* become a standard feature anyway.

Chris, then i suggest that you open a funds collection feature at Fundable.org like I did for Recover Abandoned Carts. It is complete it will take around 48 hours for the final step.
 
After that, I will send the payment to Viart so that they may begin.
 
Also, if we use Fundable or any other service to collect funds, this would help us know which users have contributed. The pledge system of fundable is very good since we can see how many had indeed funded and how much etc.
 
As compared to opening up a forum collection thread, where everyone says that he will contribute and still nothing happens.
 
I am seeing this problem happening to this feature and the one which Dan started, Order Editor. No one knows who has contributed so far and how much one has contributed. Its just haywire.

Your suggestion is great I really like it. However this is a suggestions to Viart forum.
 
Why does Viart not charge for certain features like this as an add on? And implement it now as a purchaseable add on with a visual release date for six months or sometime listed in the future. Rather than small user groups paying for it - then it comes along in next update anyhow?

Eyestrain - what you say has merit and would probably have a real beneficial impact on development.
 
This one seems to have come to a standstill

some things I believe are being handled great by viart, however some not. I don't like the one person pays and everyone gets. just seems silly. and how about if you pay, and then viart also charges for it in the upgrade fee if you're upgrading time is past. seems like they're double dipping. if were paying for the features, why charge for updates...
addons are hard to work with because an update could hurt the addo-on. it doesn't make complete sense either. I just think that viart is going to hit a wall at somepoint if things don't streamline better

We are VERY keen to have this as it will be an excellent revenue generator.
 
 
We want to be able to do the following
 
But what we want is as follows
 
- when user signs up to the site, he gets a unique code assigned to him (Reward Code)
 
- it is also emailed to them on registration
 
- anyone that uses that code FIRST time gets x% off there order value and the source owner of the code gets x points per £1\$1 spent. Thereafter that’s it! The code cannot be used twice by the same person!
 
- We would also like each person who has registered to get points per £1 spent, all the time, but I assume that’s already inherent in the system anyway
 
Can I do this now on the software?
 
We also want to ensure there is history so the user can see who has used their code and how much\many points they have been collecting

PS - If the above is met by the current $ requirement, I am in without a doubt! I need this functionality like Yesterday and I can assure Viart that if they add this, they will def boost themselves even more in the Cart league!

For mass mailing, the unique code - the feature will us the customer ID so this can be marketed with the customer easily.
 
This has been a long haul to get to this point - if I have three or four people willing to share the above I am in; otherwise constant demand for different details makes it difficult to get a consensus that every can agree - and afford.
