I was just wondering if anyone else has problems with the speed at which Viart installs on windows systems?
I have installed viart 20+ times. On servers (which were always unix i think bar one) the install took seconds. Watching the percentage progress of the database creation would take a second or two max.
When I install viart on my development XP Pro PC (iis & windows mysql) the install.php script sometimes times out after about 5 minutes of running. During this time there is non stop hard disk access.
It seems to be my windows mysql install thats causing all the disk access. I have a standard mysql install with default parameters. This is my work system so it isnt configured with above average cache settings as I normally leave my sql service running in the background and dont want it hogging too many resources.
I never ever notice a speed/hdd access issue until its time to install viart.
