I am having trouble installing viart the free version..
I uploaded includes in binary and renamed var_definition_example.php to var_definition.php and chmodded to 666, but I am still getting a blank screen..
I made sure Zend(optimiser) was installed and made sure it was compat. with all things such as php,mysql, etc..

I think youve misinterpreted the installation process.
 
"includes/var_definition.php" is created _by the software_ after you've filled in the database settings etc. fields so rename it back to "var_definition_example.php".
 
This will get rid of the "Installation process already finished" message allowing you to complete the form.
This should automatically create a copy of the "includes/var_definition.php" file tailored to your site.
 
 

I too have the same problem.. I uploaded the files, set up the db and the / install.php comes up blank...any ideas
