I've tried to change order and see the order I want in the list but products are still displayed randomly in 'Default' sort mode. There doesn't seem to be any order.
Please help!

So i've upgraded from 4.08 to 4.1 in hopes that it would fix the problem ordering problem.
It didn't so I manually reordered some of the products to push the newest to top of list but obviously this isn't a solution.
I'd like to hear from Viart on this issue because it sounds like a bug which NEEDS to be fixed.
Our products are time sensitive so manually reordering on dozens of products is not very realistic nor something we should have to do.
Has anyone experienced this problem or know of a fix?

It would be nice to receive a ticket from you in support with your admin login data.
Most likely on Edit Category page there is selected an option "(show for this category the products from the bottom subcategories)" then items in this category would be sorted only by Product's Order value from Edit Product page and "Change Products Order" link wouldn't work. You see "Change Products Order" link changes the order specifically per this category alone and when you select to show products from bottom categories this order doesn't apply anymore.
