I need to create a page similar to this:

The client only requires a list of images with the ability to click on them or javascript roll-over the same as the additional images shown at the bottom of the product details page.
Ideally I would create it with the articles section but I see no way here, what's even more confusing there is a table "va_articles_images" but I can find no way to put an image record in there via the admin interface.
 
I am looking for any comments or positive feedback as too how I might create this layout and stay within the confines of the Viart Interface for the benefit of my client and management.

well, I understand what you're doing. What you would have to do is go into the products list template file and modify it to not show this information. Just remove the coding.

Would creating a Custom Page not allow you to do an html version of this?

you can always create an html page or php page to do this manually if you want to write the coding for it. It's open source, so you can use what you want.
