I have activated points buying yet the feature is not working properly. When adding an item to the cart and checking out, the items points are shown but the 'points balance' is not shown.
 
Test this feature by creating many orders in an attempt to accumulate points still doesn't activate the 'point balance as shown in the upper right of the check out cart, nor is the points balance shown anywhere in 'my account'
 
 
When checking out I don't see how to use any points to pay for products...there is no option to tell the cart to use points when checking out.
 
Does this module work?

You also need to make sure you tick the correct boxes on "show reward settings" as well as the "show points settings"
 
This determines what points are worth once accumulated.
 
There is also a user level setting at
 
Administration > Site Users > Users Types > Edit Type
 
Discounts, Fees, Commissions
 
Maybe this could have something to do with it perhaps if you only allow orders from certain group.

I attempted to test the point systems on your website. Please delete the new account called testing.
 
I used a standard test version of a visa credit card but PayPal wouldn't process it so I couldn't complete my testing.
 
What I am curious about since you say the point system works for you are two things:
 
1. do you know for a fact that accumulated points are shown in a customer's account (i.e. when a person buys a product they should rec. points for each product they buy. These points should accumulate in the customers account profile).
2. How do your customers use points to pay for products? (i.e. if a person has enough points to use to purchase products by, how do they do that...is there a check box on the check out process that say "use my points to buy these products"?
 
Again, because you say you are successfully using the points system, it is hoped that these questions should be easily answered by you. If it is working for you, either I have missed a check box in setting the system up or my versions are all corrupt.
 
I have tested the point system on three different sites and points are not accumulating in my test user accounts nor do I see a way to use point to purchase products.

My staff are very busy processing real orders and I don't need dramatic interruptions like this.
 
Your questions:
 
1: yes - points accumulate - we get customers taking free product from time to time as they accumulate enough points for this.
2: Yes - they are offered the option against any products in the oreder that can be redeemed by points
 
If you feel you set up is not working correctly I recommend asking Viart.
