I have been searching for how to do this and I can't find much info. I want to buy this cart but with the lack of good tutorial it's discouraging. What's the point of paying for something if it requires so much work to customize it.

Also who whoever designs the templates needs to realize the less colors used the better. Almost all the templates look so busy because of too many colors. Most business websites don't use many colors, they keep it simple.

I've been trying to do the same thing and yes Viart certainly doesn't spend enough manpower on getting their documentation together. It's a bit crazy on some level. But they do have an outstanding cart and if you don't mind going through what feels like millions of files to make it look the way you want. Wish they could just use a hook type template system where you could literally script elements where you want them in whatever template you are using like the Thesis template for Wordpress (and like some simple cgi carts).

Greetings,

Hi Amy

You might checkout "Your Shop Free Template" has cart and search in header to get you pointed in the right direction.

I'm also looking for this. What doubles the frustration is that in the installation and in the documentation the 'classic' template is shown as already having the search in the header, when in fact it does not. None of the templates do, and this is nowhere in the admin CMS.

Here an example how to add search block to the header:

1. Go to user/block_search.html template and copy all available there HTML code.

2. Edit user/header.html file and paste this code wherever you like it be in your header.

3. Remove useless table code for search form and that's all.

Cart, Language and Currency blocks you can add in the same way.

It is very customizable, if you know the basics of PHP and know HTML. You can do alot. I have merged all header data into the single header.html template file. My site and home page are all DIVs and CSS now except the 3 columns of the store content. Which I would image could be changed to divs as well, because you can take the table based menu and turn it into divs by keeping the id names and such the same it will generate menu based on your div template instead of tables.
