I can never work out how to represent the full path of the file to use as import (off the server).
Can someome please give me an example for if the file is in the root folder of Viart shop?

this differs per server/cpanel configuration
ask your hosting provider.
 
with filezilla you can easily navigate to the file/folder you're looking for and see the full path in the address locator bar
