I am using v3.6 licensed and I have set up friendly URLs without any difficulty in the .htaccess file.
However there is one directory in the same hosting account that I would like to protect with a username and password set up in cPanel.
The problem is that while the Friendly URL code is in the .htaccess file the standard cPanel directory protection does not work - and if the Friendly URL code is disabled, it does work.
If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them as I need to resolve this problem.
Thanks in advance, Michael.

You can create .htaccess file manually to password protect the directory. To explain in detail would be a bit long. But, its easy we use this method to block intruders to our site.
Run a search for : protect directory using .htaccess - you'll find several sites that offer step by step how to do it.
