When file upload is added as an option and you try to upload a file you get a message that says:
"Missing a temporary folder."
What would cause this and where do I need to create a folder to resolve this?
Thanks in advance.

Let me ask it like this. Does anyone know where the define parameters for the "tmp_dir" is located. I have placed my temp dir. location in the Global Settings but when I try to upload a file for a product option it says " Missing a temporary folder."
I have wrote tech support, they contacted me to ask log in info 2 days ago but haven't heard back. I hope if this cart works like we want and we purchase it the support is better after the sale than before the sale. I am not impressed at this point. If I can't get this resolved in the next few days I will have to look for an alternit cart to fill are needs. I hope we don't have to do this.

I have now noticed that I get the same error when trying to upload a new logo via the admin globals page using the file upload feature. What ever is causing this is a site wide issue not just user front end.

Probably a permissions problem. Make sure the images directory is set as 777 or 755 or contact support.

I set the permissions to 777 on the tmp and images folder. I think it isn't registering in the globals or where the tmp_dir is defined.

Hello,
This error doesn't relate to ViArt Shop and you have to change the configurations for uploading a temporary folder in your php.ini settings.
A temporary folder in Global settings of ViArt Shop is used for other purposes.
We recommend you to contact your hosting provider to fix this issue.
