Further, extract the 'block_products_fast_add.html' into 'templates/user' folder and 'block_products_fast_add.php' into 'blocks' folder of your shop replacing existing files. Please do not forget to make a backup copy of the current files in case something goes wrong.

This block is made to speed up the shopping process. When the block is on page the cursor is placed into the 'Code' field. When pressing the Tab key after entering the code this moves the cursor to 'Qty' and pressing the Tab button again places the cursor at the 'Add to Cart' button. After pressing 'Add to cart' button the cursor is back in the 'Code' field.
This feature may be helpful for your phone operators.
The patch was also added to the ViArt 4.0 core version, so you may find files are the same if your version is up to date.

We use this for phone orders and it was our initial custom work. We do not need an operator log so this works a treat for us as we are family run business. We basically use the store front and this form along with the search block all added to the same custom page.
Once you play about with this form you will see that by entering the code only and clicking enter, a message appears stating that a qty must be added. The benifit of doing this is that if you have multiple prices for a particular product these can now be viewed in the grid wgich appears on screen for the product whose code you entered. Enabling these to quoted to a customer if required whilst they are on the phone.
We have also added a pdf list of products, prices and codes on the same custom page so a customer can view all product one 1 screen write the codes down and order quickly using the same form. (however this was created by using a microsoft access report and querying the items tabel).
The form also displays and prompts options if they are required before a product is added to cart.
Finally the form agregates the same item so if a customer orders 1 x product and then later decides to add another to make their order up yoo can simply enter an extra one in the form and 2 of the same end up in the basket. (As it would if clicking add to cart in the main shop listing)
