I wanted my header.html (in the template folder) file to display a particular block, so, I inserted some php codes therein and if I view that seperately, it works fine, but the index.php returns everything except the php value. It seems to skip the php code and read the html only. Incidentally, I have to rename the header.html file to header.php. How can I fix this.

No, not yet. Any help appreciated.

V3.3. One check is in Administration > System Administration that php is allowed to run in the area you are modifying.

Its is already checked, still not working.

Caterpillar, i think you should contact ViArt support. They will surely be able to help you.
