Hello,
I am having so many problems getting my cart to send out confirmation emails when I use Paypal. Most of the products are digital downloads and I can't get it to send out admin or customer emails after payments are processed via paypal. They are all processed (can get links via "my orders") & official Paypal emails are sent out but that is it.
If I make a product free (thus no Paypal), all emails are sent out fine and everything is great.
I also have a weird thing happening when I go to Payapl and then click "cancel transaction" and go back to the cart, emails are sent out to admin saying there is a order, and to the customer there is a problem. So emails are sent out for an unsuccessful transaction, but not when successful. ARGH!!
So does anyone have paypal (ipn) working with digital products where it successfully sends out emails? Can you walk me through your settings? I am getting to the end of my tether with this.
Thanks,
Andrea.

Hi Andrea,
Yes, we have it working for digital products. Works great, e.g. when you refund an order in PayPal automatically the order is set to refunded in Viart.
Happy to help out, but it seems there is a configuration issue with your Viart system re. payment statusses?

Hello,
Glad to hear it is working for you! I just need to compare settings I guess so I can make sure I have it all correct.
Do you have it set for "validated" when Paypal confirms in the "Advanced parameters" in the Paypal system settings?
Do you use the PDT token in the paypal system settings?
In the same section - no. 17 do you leave it as "currency_code" or change to actual currency? (eg AUD in my case), I don't really understand the instructions higher up on the page regarding that.
At what point does it send out confirmation emails to customers (paid, validated?)
I have a heap of questions, sorry. I have gone through the manual so many times trying to work out why emails are not going through!
Thanks for helping.
Andrea
OK, what we have is not really comparible as we use the same PayPal account for multiple Viart shops. We pass the return variable based on where the payment was initated. You will see this because of the variables we pass at the bottom of "paypal-viart.png". These would be constants when you use one PayPal account with one shop.
The other two screens show the PayPal configuration.
