For so long I have had custom fields, e.g.: Special Instructions - customer gives any special delivery instructions that are delivered with the order.
 
BUT - this info is not stored with the data in mySQL?
 
If I want to collect more info (say about the customer in the user table) how do I collect that to retrieve later?

Now that would be nice to have... How/where did you set that up ???
 
Also be nice to have the shipping fee's also printed on the html sales receipt...all it shows now is the carrier

for orders:
Administration > Order Profile Page Settings
for users:
Administration > Users > Users Types > Customer > Profile Settings
